We trade as Direct Air Conditioning and our Refcom F Gas certification is for our entire group of companies, FM Solutions Group. That means that all the employees of this company are fully qualified to work on all types of air conditioning.
Working on air conditioning without this certification is illegal and dangerous.
From the Refcom website; “All personnel carrying out installation, commissioning, decommissioning, repairing, maintenance or servicing of stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning or heat pump equipment that contains or is designed to contain F-Gas refrigerants must hold the relevant designated qualifications stated in regulation 2067/2014.”
Refcom is the UK’s leading F-Gas Certification Scheme, operating since 2009 to help companies comply with F-Gas regulations 2015.
According to F-Gas regulations, it is a legal obligation that any company must apply for an F-Gas certificate if they install, maintain or service stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and/or heat pump equipment containing or designed to contain F gas refrigerants.
F-Gas regulations are enforced by the Environment Agency (EA), and Refcom works closely with the EA to ensure better compliance and enforcement, and played a key role in the creation of the F gas Company Certification Scheme in 2009, alongside Defra.
Refcom Certification Ltd. (Refcom) has been appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to operate as a certification body under the EU Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas (F-Gas) regulation.
Full details of the F-Gas regulation can be found on the DEFRA Website.
When looking for an air conditioning company, it can seem like a good idea to go with a smaller company or sole trader that has questionable certifications. Make sure your engineers have this certification, like we do, so your air con is safe and complies to UK health and safety environmental laws.
FM Solutions Group, trading as Direct Air Conditioning, are fully compliant and stay up to date with all Refcom F-Gas regulations.
